Game Designer, Producer & QA analyst with a passion to create entertaining projects.

Introduction

Gaming has been part of my life since practically the very beginning. I am an individual who takes their work seriously, and who always seeks to bring out the best of myself and others around me when working on any project.

I find the process of creating and developing games to be very rewarding which allows me to give everything i have to a project to see it through to the end.

Work experience

In my previous experiences, I have performed a wide range of roles depending on what the team needs. These roles include Game designer, Q. A tester, Programmer, Producer, Sound designer and Social media manager.

My latest role was as the lead designer and producer with a small team called The Regicide Collective (TRC). I joined this team in the end of 2019, right before the pandemic hit, and designed 3 games while releasing one. With the world in chaos we were not able to fulfil the goals we set out to hit. However, this experience was a lesson in patience and understanding which I believe has made me a better producer.

During the pandemic I began two twitch channels with subsequent Discord servers and Reddit pages. the first channel for a community channel for TRC, where we would play games together or solo in a live stream. The second was my personal channel after I left TRC where I followed a similar format. Combined, both channels accumulated 640 followers (as of 9/2/2023). I had managed the channel for both myself and TRC and learned a lot about community management during this time.

I personally consider my best role within a team to be a Designer or Producer. However, I am more than happy to occupy many roles within a team.

My Games

Gremlins Brew - Created by Nebulous Dingo

Gremlins Brew is a game that I am very much proud of. In the creation of this game, I was the titles lead Game Designer, and head QA tester.

This title was developed over 7 months and was presented at PAX Australia in 2019 to an abundance of positive feedback. Gremlins Brew would later go on to be nominated as student game of the year, at the Freeplay Independent Games Festival in 2020.

The game is a chaotic two player arcade game where you and a friend are placed inside of the worlds first vending machine creating potions for impatient customers.

I learned a lot about the game development process from designing this game and it has played a fundamental role in my development as a game designer.

Stella Deflect was the first title I designed for The Regicide Collective. The aim of this project was a simple mobile game that would initiate our studio, so that we can see how the team melded and where we were strongest and weakest as a group.

The initial timeline for this game was to be 4 months. However, as previously mentioned, the pandemic hit around this period causing a further 6 months of development, as people would regularly drop in and out due to stress causing bottle necks.

Current Projects

Ask Ari is a game I’m currently designing/ developing with two friends in my mean time. It sets the player in the not to distant future where humans have an over-reliance on A.I programs to run their lives. These programs have integrated into all facets of human existence and control every technological appliance possible. Because of this, humans live in a world of luxury, and stupidity, where all their needs are met whenever they ask. Until one day, when a rogue A.I began infiltrating homes in an attempt to kill the humans within. The player, acting as an uncorrupted A.I named Ask-Ari, must juggle the responsibility of averting their idiotic humans from danger, whilst attending to their needs without them growing impatient until their parent company can release a patch, eliminating the virus

The player must move from room to room through placed cameras, creating a cone of vision/ fog of war like system, and seek out any corrupted devices that may annoy or harm the human. If the human becomes to annoyed by the fact that devices are malfunctioning or that you have not gotten them a sandwich yet, they will turn you off thinking that you are the issue, leaving them defenseless.

We do not have a timeline on this game as we are quite busy with our day to day but are very excited about this project.
